it's hazy
- More comfortable to see while driving, cycling, skiing or sunbathing
- Reduced risk of eye strain and headaches by protecting the eye
from overwork
- See the true colours and contrasts of the world around you
What causes Glare?
Glare is concentrated light reflecting
off a horizontal shiny surface, such as sand, water, snow or roads.
It reduces visibility and makes it uncomfortable, painful and dangerous
to carry on driving, cycling, skiing
or just sunbathing.
How
do sunglasses help?
Not all sunglasses do help. Some just make things look darker.
Polaroid polarized sunglasses block virtually all glare. Polaroid
invented polarization in the 1930s and our sunglasses became the
biggest-selling sunglasses in history. Here's the blast-from-the-past
physics lesson.
Light is made up of waves travelling in different directions.
Vertical light is useful to the human eye; it helps us see. Horizontal
light, however, simply creates glare and can be safely dispensed
with. The vertically-aligned polarizing layer inside every Polaroid
lens does not allow horizontal light to pass through.
With Polaroid's unsurpassable anti-glare properties, you can wear
Polaroid lenses all day every day and enjoy whatever you're doing
in safety and comfort.
