Polaroid sunglasses, Hermes and Bvlgari in MoscowPolaroid sunglasses are available at many Duty Free shops across the world, so we’re delighted to feature in the new Terminal A store at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow. Specially selected by the airport, Polaroid is amongst a selection of other premium accessories including perfumes, cosmetics, confectionary, luggage and travel items.

With other top brands such as P&G, Coty, L’Oréal Luxe, Hermès and Bvlgari showcasing their accessories, it’s fantastic to be in such great company for quality and style.

Already the airport is thriving as more international flights are using the new Terminal A, so it’s an exciting time for us.

In 2008 Alex Flynn was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 36. So he decided to do something positive and inspirational with the hope of finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. Alex has a goal to race 10 Million Metres before December 2014 wearing Polaroid’s excellent sports sunglasses, aiming to raise over £1m for Cure Parkinson’s Trust.

Polaroid Eyewear is supporting Alex’s 10 Million Metre challenge, by providing him with sports sunglasses to protect his eyes as he takes on his exceptional challenge. Alex was recently featured in Running Fitness magazine which featured his epic journey running from London to Rome in his Flynn’s TransEurope challenge.

The Air Canada crew wearing their Polaroid sunglasses

The Air Canada crew wearing their Polaroid sunglasses.

I recently attended the In-flight Sales Person of the Year (ISPY) conference at the Hilton Brighton Metropole. This international exhibition attracts many airlines, concessionaires and leading suppliers in the retail travel industry. It was great to speak to global airlines such as South African Airways; who sell Polaroid sunglasses on their long-haul flights; Virgin Atlantic and Flybe.

Polaroid Eyewear sponsored the event, which largely focussed on the technique of training the airline crew. This was interesting see, as were the presentations given by the ISPY experts.

The most inspiring talk for me was Alan Chambers, MBE and Polar Explorer. He shared his experience of getting the first British team to walk supported to the Geographic North Pole, and how he motivated his team in such harsh conditions. Read more…
