On 13 and 14 May, Sean Curran will be walking the Downs Link from Guildford to the coast at Shoreham-by-Sea.
Along with several colleagues he’ll be covering 37 miles through Surrey and West Sussex in just two days. What a challenge! But all in aid of a good cause as all money raised will be going to the British Heart Foundation. Polaroid is pleased that he’ll be wearing a pair of Mountain FX from our sports sunglasses collection to help him stay focussed on the route ahead.

It’s coming. Can’t you feel it? That gentle snap in the air when you go out the door in the morning and then again in the evening? It’s autumn – and that means winter is ready and waiting in the wings.
Nothing is as controversial as animal prints. Well…okay, politics might just cause more debate. I can’t tell you how many women I know hate the idea of animal prints. Strangely, there’s just as many who seem to love them. While one camp won’t get near them, the other sometimes goes a little over the top. Animal prints are definitely something you shouldn’t overdo. Less, as they say, is definitely more. So, quicker than you can say Pat Butcher’s earrings, here are some ideas you might enjoy exploring.
Vintage is making a come back. Again. And sunglasses are part of the trend. This time, it’s not just about finding beautiful, wearable pieces from the 50s, 60s, 70s or even the 80s. It’s also about finding the shapes and ideas that evoke an earlier era. Nostalgia definitely has a place in this autumn’s look-book.
Polaroid sunglasses have an amazing history. They’ve been around since the thirties when polarizing technology was first developed by Edwin Land. A huge part of their success was down to the invention of a synthetic polarizer that could effectively block light travelling in the horizontal plane. But, looking at some old ads, it’s easy to see that Polaroid had a unique style. One that made heads turn!
It’s the in-between season. Autumn is just ahead, but summer feels a little distant. But that doesn’t mean you can put your sunglasses away. When the sun is lower in the sky, there’s still glare – and it’s glare that makes it uncomfortable to drive. So keep your shades to hand even when the forecast is for rain. One of the biggest trends coming our way is a move toward lady-like dressing. That doesn’t mean you need to start shopping like the late great Queen Mother. But what it does mean is that classic shapes and fabrics are making a comeback.
