Keen fly-fisherman, Chris Cook, has recently returned from a 3 week trip to Christmas Island in the Pacific. Just 1,000 miles south of Hawaii, in one of the most stunning and remote fly fishing destinations in the world, Chris was filming a DVD. And this has since been short listed for an award from the Institute of Videography. For this production, the camera crew were equipped with Polaroid fishing sunglasses.
“The cameramen used the fishing sunglasses whilst we were out at sea, and they found them to be very useful,” said Chris. “We found them comfy to wear and also a great help in seeing through the glare on the water.”
Chris has quite a repution in the fly-fishing world, and has a pending World Record for YellowfinTuna, having caught one weighing in at 128 lbs whilst in Christmas Island. Polaroid was introduced to Chris through our partnership with Fly Fishing Forums, Europe’s largest community of fly anglers. We’re excited to see what expedition Chris and his team will be taking part in next.
The Christmas Island Tourist Board is hoping that Chris’s DVD will attract fishing enthusiasts from the UK, US and Australia to the area. You can see a clip from the film here.
