Here at Polaroid Eyewear, we’re pretty excited about the upcoming Vancouver Winter Olympics. After all, every season has its charms. And guess who will be wearing Polaroid sunglasses when he’s out and about? John Kerr – one of the UK’s best known ice skaters. We’ve given him a pair of sunglasses to take with him on his trip – let’s hope they bring him luck.
John and his sister Sinead are seven-time British Ice Dance champions. They’re originally from Scotland and just came in sixth place this January in the 2010 European Championships. In 2009, they also won a bronze medal for Great Britain at the European Championships and came 7th in the World Championships. They are the only British ice dancers ever to gain a medal at Grand Prix events and earn a place in the Grand Prix final. They represented GBR at the 2006 Olympics in Italy and placed 10th. They’re both skaters with amazing strength, talent and grace.

While we’re waiting for the launch of the new Polaroid sunglasses collection, it seems only natural to review Polaroid’s amazing heritage. I saw these sunglasses on eBay and it reminded me that Polaroid has a rich past – both in the technical development of our lenses and also in fashion. Sunglasses with this kind of style say it all.
